Warriors Improve to 3-0 in district play with a victory over Beaumont

October 1, 2017

CCS committed a couple of early turnovers, but the defense held strong all night long. The offense found its rhythm and produced a 27 - 0 lead at half time. The second half would be more of the same as the defense continued to pitch a shut out and the offense racked up more yards and TDs. The Warriors had six rushing touchdowns on the night with Fleischhauer scoring three touchdowns. Jackson Landrum would find the endzone and gained 103 yards on 14 attempts. Holl completed 14 of 29 for 239 yards. Carbone gained 102 yards, including a spectacular 34 yard gain at the end of the half. Braden Barbisch would also will his way to a score with the assistance of the entire offensive line pushing him into the end zone.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Warriors were led by Austin Henry with 1.5 tackles for loss and 9 total tackles, and Manuel Ochoa with 1.5 sacks tackles for loss or 1.5 sacks. Henry was the game's leading tackler with nine total tackles. Christian Fleischhauer broke up five passes in the rout, which helped the defense force Beaumont to be 1 of 12 on third-down conversions. With the victory, CCS improves to 3-0 in district play, while Beaumont falls to 2-1.

Next week, the Warriors will host the undefeated Magnolia Legacy Lions at 7 p.m. This game will determine the front runner for the district title. It is elementary night, so the first 100 K-5th  grade fans will get a free t-shirt.
